Slongo

Scott Longo
Inspired by Michael’s awesome Tatsumi comic. I covered a page from my favorite Chester Brown book.
Every cartoonist should try this at least once. Learned so much just from spending time with these panels. One of the biggest insights I noticed about the original page was that, despite the irregular panel borders, all of Chester’s sightlines matched. Like, his character’s eyes are level on each tier, except the final panel where they’re slightly higher. Emphasizing the narrative action between the panels.
